The success of magazines such as People, Us, and InStyle confirmed to everyone
what every editor lives every day. People are interested in people, especially celebrities and their
movies, music, and art.
The web has confirmed this with hard data. In 2002 the server logs at Yahoo!
News revealed that the most active day of the year was after Halle Berry won
the best actress Oscar. Number four was after the election. Number ten was the
day after the Grammy Awards were presented. The top 100 terms on all search
engines always includes pop music and movie stars along with sports heros.
Add Context Entertainment allows web publishers to exploit this phenomenon.

Police Clash at Rock Hall |
|
|
(AP) The Police reunited for their first public performance
in 18 years, celebrating their induction into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame with classmates The Clash and others.
Sting, singer for The Police, joked about
the ego problems that helped splinter the band. No Doubt singer
Gwen Stefani countered "Sting is actually the humble one of
the group" as she introduced The Police.
The Clash were saluted by two of the best-known
rock guitarists today: The Edge of U2 and Tom Morello of Audioslave.
